The Pacific Cat Club was incorporated in July 1900 and was one of the first organized cat clubs on the west coast of the USA. The club held its first informal exhibition in August the same year, with their shows slowly growing in size from year to year.

This multi-page show catalog for the club's 1911 show was purchased by The CFA Foundation and is an excellent resource for registration data information on cats of the era. There were 153 entries in this 3-day show in classes varying from the multitude of Longhair colors to only 11 Shorthair entries. No breed names are mentioned; cats are identified by color and pattern only.

Interestingly, the catalog contains a notice that "Cats must not be removed from the show room before 10 p.m. Out-of-town exhibitors may remove cats Saturday night at 9:30 p.m."

The CFA Foundation also owns a trophy from this same 1911 Pacific Cat Club show. The trophy is engraved "Best Persian Smoke Female bred on Pacific Coast. P.C.C. Show, 1911". The Premium List for the awards shows that this particular trophy was donated by Mrs. L. O. Getzler.

Acquisition of this show catalog, which is a marked Judge's copy, shows that the Best Smoke Persian Female entry in the show was Brilliant Lassie, owned by Miss E. Gutleben. No registration number is printed in the catalog, nor can any record for Brilliant Lassie be found in the ACA Stud Books of that year.

By 1950, the Pacific Cat Club had moved to become a United Cat Fanciers (UCF) associated club and held their first UCF show that year. By 1953, they had become a Cat Fanciers' Association (CFA) affiliated club.
